Safety at JB Hi-Fi and The Good Guys
The SDA, Australia’s union for retail workers, is wanting to ensure that health and safety of retail workers is paramount in these uncertain times.
It is the SDA’s objective to keep you safe and to keep you paid.
If stores close, JB Hi-Fi and the Good Guys would have no legal obligation pay you and it is unclear what government benefits you might be entitled to.
As such, it is critical that we focus on strong Covid-19 health and safety measures in stores.
The SDA last met (teleconference) with the company on 2 April to raise health and safety issues and we are currently in stores talking to staff members and raising issues.
We are keen to hear from as many staff as possible about health and safety conditions in stores.
We would ask that you take a few moments to fill out our survey so that we can get an accurate picture of where JB Hi-Fi/Good Guys are at, and what still needs to be improved.
The SDA has called on all retailers who are currently operating to ensure that they have taken actions with regards to our 10-point Health and Safety Plan.
