The SDA has been calling for weeks for an essential service payment to be paid to Coles members to recognise their hard work during this crisis.
Coles will pay a thank you payment to eligible staff with payments to be made in the week commencing 25 May.
The SDA welcomes this payment as an important first step towards recognising your efforts in continuing to work under extremely difficult circumstances when most other Australians stayed home.
SDA will continue to talk to Coles about remuneration during this period.
The payments are set out below:
- Department Managers $750
- Full time employees $500
- Part time employees $250
- Casuals employed before 1 March $200
- Casuals employed after 1 March $100
This recognition payment was won by SDA union members who supported our calls for extra pay for essential workers.
