Better wages and conditions at David Jones

Following extensive negotiations between David Jones and the SDA the proposed David Jones Enterprise Agreement 2024 is ready for you to consider.

The new Agreement contains changes to conditions of employment at David Jones which are summarised in this document.

This Agreement replaces the David Jones Enterprise Agreement 2018. If approved by team members, the proposed Agreement will be lodged with the Fair Work Commission (FWC) for assessment. The commencement date is dependent on when it is approved by the FWC.

It will nominally expire four years from the date it is approved by the FWC.

WAGES:

  • Locked in wage increases that match the Fair Work Commission’s Annual Wage Review decision for the General Retail Industry Award (GRIA) plus above Award wages that increase each year of the Agreement.
  • Super will be paid to all eligible employees regardless of their age or hours of work.

 

ROSTERING & BREAKS IMPROVEMENTS:

  • Increase to permanent part-time minimum core hours.
  • Rest breaks to be increased to 20 minutes.

 

IMPROVEMENTS TO LEAVE PROVISIONS:

  • Inclusion of one additional paid leave day called ‘Life Leave’ which can be used for any reason.
  • Improvements to personal business leave to make it more versatile.
  • Improvements to compassionate leave.
  • Ability to provide evidence for the care of a person who is frail, aged or has a long-term disability once for a 12-month period.
  • Expansion of the definition of family and child for the purpose of carer’s and compassionate leave.
  • Improved Family and Domestic Violence leave.
  • Secures existing entitlements such as Picnic Day, Blood Donor Leave, Bone Marrow Leave and Natural Disaster Leave.
